Brass
Pinannulars
The
pins for each are slightly longer than the diameter of the circular
parts. These pins are also known as Kilt Pins, Celtic Pins, or
Pinannulars (aka Blanket Pins, 18th century large safety pins).
All are made from brass rod. These small convenient sizes are
great for light wool scarves or shawls, children's skirts or kilts,
on wool hats or caps, as well as keeping labels or collars out
of the way. The medium size (largest size shown presently is good
for capes or cloaks). Re-enactors use these pins from Renaissance
period straight thru to the Civil War, but very dominant in the
Colonial or 18th Century period. Please check back on the availability
of the larger sizes.
